Waves for Change provides safe spaces, access to caring adults, and provision of weekly ‘Surf Therapy Sessions’, to help young people from volatile backgrounds develop skills to regulate behaviour, build healing relationships, cope with stress and make positive life-choices.

Sea Rescue is the charity that saves lives on South African waters. The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is run by over 1 000 highly skilled, unpaid volunteers who are on standby day and night throughout the year.

We are here for all things regarding Adaptive Surfing in South Africa. Want to learn to surf? Want to compete in contests? Want to Volunteer? Want to Donate? Want help with board design? Want to be inspired? You are at the right place.

In addition, we are here to help any person or organisation who want to hold adaptive days in South Africa. In order for us to sanction the event, it is important and obligatory that you adhere to our safety code, and have completed an official Surfing South Africa Coaching Course. Safety is our priority. In return, you will be able to share all ASSA service providers and permissions.

The Beach Co-op
We love the ocean and want to work with others that do too. It all began in 2015 when a volunteer group started meeting every new moon to collect marine debris on the rocky shore at Surfers Corner in Muizenberg. It is our local surf break and we wanted to do something for the ocean that does so much for us. This philosophy continues into the work we do today, and although our mission is focused on single-use plastic, the driving force and primary ambition is the health of our ocean.
Our single use plastics mission is to work with it at all points of its supply chain: remove it from the beach, refuse it when making purchases, work with brands and
companies who want to use less plastic, and encourage manufacturers to design plastic packaging with a circular economy in mind i.e. design for recyclability.
